Enjoyed seeing wonderful flowers blooming now that Spring is here.
Indulged in my sister’s homemade almond cakes.
Treated myself to a mini beauty haul in Boots and Superdrug.
Went back in time for a beautiful walk in the sunshine at Nymans.

Today was a good day – a reminder of life before my lungs and immune system started misbehaving. Met a dear friend for coffee and a heart to heart at Starbucks. Treated myself to a manicure and pedicure at lovely new nail bar who used lush Essie colours. Boosted self-esteem and banished greys with L”Oreal Castings dye and Coloured Ombré kit. Celebrated the birth of the divine Elizabeth Taylor and took heed of her excellent advice.

Today involved a trip to the optician to collect a second pair of spectacles. Yes the day has arrived when I need two types of glasses. One for laptop use plus my usual pair for walking around/driving/general life. Hmm not loving this development in getting older. Plus I suspect chaos will ensue as I get used to switching between the two lenses. However the staff at Specsavers were very helpful and I do like the new frames.
It wasnt all bad today either as the sun came out for a brief moment so I took a stroll with a spicy Costa Vanilla Latte. It was so lovely to see sunshine and white fluffy clouds in blue skies. Especially after all the recent rain and gales in England.
Another reason for my escape into the outside world was to take a peek at the new Silk nail range from BarryM which appeared on shelves today. Although tempted to buy all the pretty pastel shades I settled on Meadow ~ a pale minty colour that seemed suitable for the almost Spring day. I must say it goes on like a dream and has a lovely sheen to it plus its a welcome change from dark Winter hues.
Finished the afternoon with some relaxing herbal tea in one of my new vintage china teacups and had a flick through the fashion pages of Look magazine. The teacups are a recent find in a local charity shop and its amazing how much happiness can be found in one tiny cup.
