Dream Guardian
Caught adrift
In insomnia’s hazy grip
Wishing for sweet sleep
Perchance to lazily dream
Along with Bard’s creations
As we share their reflection
Complicated false histories
Bitter scalding dark mysteries
Salt wounded by tragedies
Taunted by ill luck
Trapped by feverish fairy folk
Tricked by peevish Puck
Or do you run in fear
From Caliban’s violence
Outbursts born
From indifference
Dark lonely silence
Only your dream state will tell
But insomnia blurs the way
Lest we enter that dream world
To see where they play

The Big Sleep
Insomnia
Elusive Sleep
Sleep is proving more elusive than usual as I have my third surgical procedure of the year very soon. Between surgeries, long hospital stays and ongoing quarantine at home, the year 2013 has left me feeling quite deflated. Somewhat worn out in body and mind. I believe the most effective (yet slightly lazy word) is meh. Still it’s an excellent opportunity for a vintage Audrey photo so it’s not all bad. If only I looked this chic upon waking!
