A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig is a beautiful original tale full of magic, hope and festive fun. It’s funny, sad, moving and spectacular. So imaginative and a new Christmas classic for both children and adults. Wonderful illustrations too from Chris Mould.

Just finished reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman. Its beautiful, magical & so funny too. A joy to read and perfect escapism. Thank goodness there are still fairy tales for grownups.
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton is set in Amsterdam during 1686 and is a vivid glimpse at the city’s history and culture. It has a dash of mystery, suspense and hints of magic in its pages. Challenging at times it is worth keeping with its complicated and emotional tale. Whilst I have mixed feelings about its conclusions I liked its honest portrayal of the challenges faced by women at that point in history.
