Remembrance Sunday

Here in England it is Remembrance Sunday – a day to remember the fallen during both World Wars and later conflicts.  It is always held on the Sunday closest to Armistice Day. Poppies are the emblem of this day and a Poppy Appeal is run each year by the The Royal British Legion to raise funds for past and present British Armed Forces and their families.

For the Fallen

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them

Laurence Binyon (1869 ~ 1943)
